Being a Vendor that travels across the country setting up Haunted Attractions and running my own, Bennetts Curse is one of the most professional and safest haunts out there. These guys go the extra mile when it comes to safety! Open Bennetts Curse ........

I bet the fire departments is not up to code on their fire safty, Y doy we inspect them and tell them when thet fix thirs we willl fix ours. I think BCFD has a persona lvendetta against us, id just like to know what. They need to grow up and let us run our buisness.Offer thr free tix then see whT Hppens. It sounds ridiculous that with the proposed system, that is not sufficient for the safety requirements while it has been signed off as being an acceptable system.

If there are sprinklers, EMT'S and the Police, and they find it safe for the employees and patrons, then let it open.

I applied to work here, but alas, transportation has kept me away, so the least I can do is sign this. And promise to help out anyway I can..

As an Actor and Special Effects Artist at this haunt, I, like many people employed by Bennett's Curse, was relying heavily on this extra income. My fiancée and I spent thousands on tools and materials for the special effects makeup, and the income from the haunt was meant to soften the blow. As it stands right now, the pettiness of the Baltimore City Fire Department has cost us around $375 in lost revenue. This sets us back quite a bit financially, since we were depending on the income from this job. This also sets back a very important date for us. All of this is for what? Simple pettiness from the Fire Department? They have been trying since we opened in the beginning to find some way to shut this haunt down. I can personally recall a time where they spent I believe around 20 minutes trying to set the special fire retardant straw we had on fire to prove it was a fire risk. Fact of the matter is, the Fire Department determines cases like ours by a case by case process, and has the authority to determine if and when facilities need a sprinkler system. Instead, since the Bennett's went above and beyond, installing a $40k+ early detection system that can get customers out safely before a sprinkler system since they cannot install a sprinkler system in their building, which is in line with the fire department's own code for haunted houses. With all of this, the fire department has refused to even meet with the Bennett's, pushing meetings until the last minute before canceling said meetings indefinitely, completely denying them any and all chances to get an operation license. With the actions of the Fire Marshals within Baltimore County, why would anyone even think of starting a small business withing city limits?

You just can't!

This is something people in the area look forward to all year. There is no valid reason not to open this year.

Please keep this familys business opened! This is a fun filled event not to mention their financial rock!
