Prong collars are frowned upon but not banned - despite horrific injuries to dogs these barbaric objects of torture are still for sale world-wide.

Even though there has been a public outcry in many countries, governments seem to be ignoring these so-called training collars - the fact is that all they train the dog to do is expect pain and fear when on a lead.

There are photographs to back these facts up - can you look at them and feel nothing, or like me, are you so angry that you want to put these things on the neck of the owners instead?

The latest trick to fool people into not recognising dogs wearing these is the collars are now manufactured with cloth or leather covers to hide the chain and prongs!

I would say to the owners who use the Prong collar "If you are too lazy (or too cruel) to teach your dog with patience, love and kindness, why do you own a dog in the first place?"

Please sign this petition and let's get these vile objects of medieval torture banned altogether!

I just saw the number hit five hundred and honestly I am shaking because I never thought so many people would actually care about these poor dogs. It makes me so mad thinking about those hidden prongs under the leather covers but having you all here makes me feel like we might actually have a shot at stopping this cruelty.

I was just looking at the count and saw we are creeping up on that next big threshold which is honestly mind blowing even though it feels like these collars should have been gone years ago. If you can get a link to this in the group chat or just copy it into a post right now we might actually hit the goal before I lose my mind thinking about those poor dogs stuck in agony.

These are not at all acceptable for dogs. They need to be banned as is happening in some countries and on some sale sites.

These collars are barbaric and do not actually train the dogs. The dogs are afraid of the pain, so they behave while it is on. When it is off you do not have a trained dog.

Barbaric and causes suffering for no reason. Dogs can be taught in other ways that do not punish rather they reward. It's quite simple. Make learning fun and your pet is more likely to take notice. Make it a drag and painful well you end up with a scared, insular, scarred and temperamental pet.

This is absolutely disgusting I have found information about these collars and researched them a lot online. Its ridiculous that we claim dogs to be "mans best friend" yet we treat them with such horror and disrespect. If you cant be bothered to train your dog properly you shouldn't have a dog at all.
