Although many people have heard that Styrofoam is terrible for the environment, not many people know the details. Styrofoam can take 1,000,000 years to degrade. With that number, we will soon have to expand landfills as we use Styrofoam. It can also hurt humans. A scientific study shows that chronic exposure to polystyrene leads to further complication, including adverse effects on the nervous and respiratory system, and possibly the kidney and liver. We need to stop Styrofoam as it takes over our world. Sign this petition to help ban Styrofoam in Pacific Beach!

Agree, although styrofoam may help to keep food hot or cold, it is a major problem for the environment due to its slow decomposition and toxic effects. More environmentally friendly and equally effective material exist. Ban styrofoam!
I didn't know that styrofoam was so detrimental to the environment. We really do need to stop littering styrofoam.
