I am strongly opposed to helicoptor tour on CB. No matter how high flown, the frequent noise will be disruptive to residents and wildlife. I work out of my home and this type of noise will negatively impact my ability to work. Additionally, many residents opt for over the air TV and this aircraft interferes with signals; this will especially impact residents who cannot afford more costly options. Please do not allow this non-essential noise on our beautiful island.

Love Carolina & Kure beaches & don't feel this a necessary addition!! It will not bring in more tourists this will only "run them away" with the noise!! Please don't let this happen to our beautiful beaches!!

I have lived on this island for 33 years. If I have to listen to this invasion of my peaceful little island life I'll have to move. Stupidest thing I've ever hear of.

The helicopter tours are not a good fit for Carolina Beach. I would think there would be other places that would be a better fit for this operation. This is a small town America beach. It is not Myrtle nor Wrightsville and that's what we like about it. Is this a matter of convenience for the operator of the helicopter business? I don't see how CB will benefit. It is noisy, distracting and dangerous. Most folks come here for the beach, fishing, the boardwalk, the aquarium and Fort Fisher. They come to "get away" and enjoy the ocean. Having a helicopter flying over every 30 minutes would take away from what is here to enjoy.

The one day helicopter flights in CB were very noisy and distracting and I believe having regular flights would disrupt quality of life here In CB. I am also concerned about safety issues since I live very close to the proposed takeoff and landing areas.

There is no evidence to suggest this service business would attract tourist or generate any revenue for the town or any other business. The operation of a Helicopter business in Oak Island has shown it to be unsafe with two accidents in 4 years. I think the business will have a negative effect on our community and our quality of life. In my opinion the applicant of the helicopter business also seems to lack good judgement as evidenced by the issue this past spring at Wrightsville Beach. There has been no mention by P&Z or council as to requirements similar to those required by current businesses in CB I.e. paved and lined parking spaces, drive on and drive off aprons, water closets, safety equipment requirements around aviation fuel, landscaping, landing apron. Horry County in SC have implemented ordiances requiring helicopters to operate out of an airfield or airport due to severe problems with noice and public safety.

I 100% stand behind this petition. As a resident of Carolina Beach, and one who lives a block off the ocean in Atlanta Ave, I can say with 100% certainty, that we should not allow these helicopter tours over our island. It's extremely annoying both in the beach and to have them flying over or near my home. Also, I believe it is highly unsafe to have helicopters taking off and landing so close to a daycare for children. One of the things I've always loved about Pleasyre Islsnd is that it is not so built up like Myrtle Beach and other beach towns! If tourists want to take a helicopter ride, they do not have far to go. PLEASE do not allow this company not only to take off and land on our island, , but to also not fly tours over our beaches or island!

No one wants to live next to an airport. The noise and the safety concerns should be reason enough to stop it. It will not make Carolina Beach a more popular tourist destination. Give it up. If you cannot attend the hearing. Write a letter to the City Council.

No to the helicopter. Signing this petition is nice but we MUST show up on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 6:30 pm at Carolina Beach Town Hall, 1121 N. Lake Park Blvd, Carolina Beach. You must get up and SAY No at the meeting or they won't know if you are for or against it. If you don't show up you will hearing helicopters from many companies.

I have been on a helicopter tour, over a beach town, in another state. It was constant air traffic all day long with multiple choppers in the air at the same time. The pilot even told us how much the residents hated it. Carolina Beach offers much to the tourists and to the full time residents. We recently relocated here because this town offers a little bit of everything and it isn't just a summertime vacation destination. While it is important to bring in tourist dollars, it is just as important(if not more so) to maintain a positive increase in our property values. Helicopters constantly buzzing over Pleasure Island will not accomplish both. Please say NO to this proposal!

The business district and main thoroughfare of Carolina Beach is not the place for a helicopter tour. It is a safety, noise, and business concern. Please do not allow.

Greg Mears and I are full time residents at Waterfronte. We are opposed to the installation of a helicopter tour service. There is a primary public safety issue. The pilots have minimal experience. Stationing this in a highly densely populated area is dangerous.
