Hedgehog Freedom in Georgia

I just really want a hedgehog, okay? It is my dream pet.

I see no reason why they can not be legal to own . I would love to have one , I have done a lot of research on them and see no reason why responsible people can not give one a wonderful home .

It's insane that hedgehogs are illegal ,and to own one you have to get permit breed them which could open you up to rejection from you hedgie

There is no reason for this animal to be banned in GA. They do not survive out in the wild in temps below 53 degrees. There is no chance of over population! We want one as a pet. In Texas we were able to handle one...and fell in love. Please reverse this ban. Thank you.

Legalize hedgies!

I have wanted to own a hedgehog as a pet for quite some time. All of the states bordering Georgia have legalized it and theres no reason why Georgia shouldn't either!

They are very cute and fun pets. People are scared that they will over populate. But georgia is too hot for that and in the winter it is to cold for the hedgehogs soo they would die.

Please legalize

It's a stupid law based on uninformed fear.

I like hedgehogs. Besides it's impossible for escaped hedgehogs to form colonies in Georgia because the domesticated African Pygmy hedgehog is not capable of hibernating. Any run off hedgehogs would not be able to survive the winter.

I have wanted a hedgehog for years and I am still unable to own one, I am willing to let the gov. Come and check in on my hedgehog ever day if that's what it takes.

Get rid of this silly ban on an animal that does harm to nothing and no one!

I don't think anything is wrong with having a hedgehog as pet!!! Its crazy!!

Ferrets were once illegal in Georgia also. I believe hedgehogs should be legal to own in Georgia as pets, and that the fear of them escaping and starting a wild population is almost improbable.

Make an exception in your insectivore animal list, GA!

Love and nature is needed badly in this world and I will always do my part!

I would like to have a hedgehog in my classroom for educational purposes. It would be a nice change from a typical classroom pet.
