Postgraduate students and staff come to the University of Canterbury every week to do their work. Every weekend the heaters in the offices are turned off (but, inexplicably the heaters in several classrooms are kept on). The students who come have paid their fees, and expect facilities such as heating to be provided. But, it is not. So, this petition is for students and staff members who freeze every weekend in Kirkwood Village. We have already asked for heating, but we were ignored due to bureaucracy.
The administration at the University of Canterbury keeps ignoring our frozen fingers while they waste heat on empty rooms. This surge in support proves they cannot sweep our basic needs under the rug anymore. We are building the pressure required to force these bureaucrats to turn the heat on.

RIDICULOUS. We pay way too much in fees to be sitting in a freezer on the weekends. Why is it on in empty classrooms but not where we are actually working?
