I'm a mother of a 33 years old Son , who happens to live in New York City. Now I sea to my son at least twice a week and if don't hear from him I call him. I've thought many times if something would happen to him who will i call. It is pretty disturbing to me that the family of this young man had to wait until he body was floating in the water to prove to NYPD that in fact her son was missing. Should No one have to wait that long. I live in the south and when someone is missing, it is broadcast on the News of every station and people get together with the police to search for the person and pass out fliers. Does the person have to be of a different ethic group. About one an half to two years ago I saw a on Facebook of how there was a search for a worker at Columbia University and they had a search and friends /family were included was the fact that she was Asian make a difference? I hope not bc "All lives matter" and sometimes you could be in the wrong place at the wrong time, but at least NYPD make an effort to protect and serve the people who look up to you their only hope to find their love ones. God bless you all in helping with this most heart felt situation.
