
Healthy, Productive Communities Need Full-Time Employment


Whereas increased populations of full time employment is good for the economy, the tax base, and for families, allowing full time employees to increase their spending in their communities, and allowing an increase in taxes being collected. Whereas people employed full-time with benefits, are less likely to access social services such as public housing and food banks. We the under signed petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as follows: To pass legislation that would require businesses with greater than twenty employees to maintain a minimum of 10 percent full-time employees, with those employees having some sort of employer contributed benefits plan, and, To pass legislation that would require businesses that are incorporated, international and/or employ over 200 workers, be required to maintain a minimum of twenty-five percent full-time employees with some sort of employer contributed benefits plan.
