HealthSTAT is a multidisciplinary, non-profit organization of health professional students from across Georgia. HealthSTAT student and community members are invited to sign on to letters for Speaker Richardson and Lt. Gov. Cagle expressing our disappointment in the failure of the trauma bill. Visit http://grady.healthstatgeorgia.org/q=action to read the letters. The petition link will be sent out to HealthSTAT members through our listserv and we will have students sign on until 4/13/08 at which time we will deliver the letters and signatures.

I honestly cannot believe how many of you stepped up to back this after the bill went south and it really feels like the energy is finally shifting in our favor. It was so discouraging for a minute there but seeing this momentum grow makes me think we might actually force them to pay attention to us for once.

GA needs this funding. My neighbor works in the ER and sees how bad it gets when there isnt enough help. Do the right thing.

This is honestly ridiculous. People are dying because we cant get our act together. Fix it now.

Its just so sad that it always comes down to money instead of actual people. Thanks for pushing this healthstat.

So frustrated right now. We need better trauma care in this state. Stop stalling.

The legislature failed us all on this one. What a mess.
