Healthier Foods for JSCC
As students here at James Sprunt Community College in Kenansville, North Carolina, we are limited by the food that is provided to us by our cafeteria. Processed foods are bad for our bodies for numerous reasons such as:
- causing depression, mood swings, and memory issues,
- causing obesity by overeating, and
- causing low energy, poor digestion, illness, acidic blood, and weight gain.
Although we are faced with tough everyday life situations and poor eating habits, I propose a solution.
Since Duplin County is known for its agriculture, we should support our local farmers. I propose to buy local, fresh foods from our farmers to broaden the selection of foods that we are currently being served within our cafeteria at James Sprunt Community College. There will be the selection of processed foods for those students who want them and healthier foods for those students who want them. We will be eating healthier and boosting our local economy.
Together, we can make a difference.
