Healthcare For Heroes Now: Get It Done Washington and Pass H.R. 847
Nine years ago, countless men and women proved themselves to be heroes on September 11 by acting as First Responders to the crisis in New York. Today, many of them are facing long term effects of exposure to the toxins released by the destruction of the World Trade Center. Hundreds of these heroes died on that day and thousands more are dying today as H.R. 847, the bill that would ensure them $7.4 billion dollars in healthcare and compensation, has been filibustered by the GOP as a protest measure. Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and those of any political leaning can surely agree that these men and women are in need of help and quality care, and as such can come together and sign this statement demanding that Congress put aside its petty partisanship and provide aid to these heroes. By signing this statement, you are sending a message to Congress that reminds them that they have been elected as our representatives to serve the interests of the American people, not the interests of their own parties. What better way to serve our interests than by passing the Zadroga Bill and aiding the men and women who were on the front lines to help this country when it faced the unfathomable tragedy and horror of the 11th? By signing this statement, you are sending a simple demand to Washington: Healthcare for Heroes now. Get it Done, People.
