This is the best way tro move forward in the trade

Slave labour, when you combine, pay, danger and long-term damage to the body. Its these conditions that play on the minds of workers within the industry and result in lack of concentration.

I agree that ALL arborists (land + aeriel based) should have to have emergency first aid certificate, to be renewed every 3 years. I feel that extensive first aid kit + training should be essential for aerial rescuers, clotting granules, tornique, heavy dressings, bandages etc.

Full support, we work in a dangerous industry we need improved training and to also keep on top of refresher training.

Recently took a first aid course, paired with the recent deaths highlited to me the impotence of first aid in the industry

First Aid is an essensial yet non-obligatory qualification

I agree, let's make training more suited to real life situations and not just a box ticking excercise.

Been a tree surgeon for 4 years and have done a few first aid courses but more training is never a bad thing! Especially if it helps prevent loss of life.

As a regular customer of tree surgeons I am shocked that First Aid training is not mandatory.

First Aid for sure, but possibly a new module dealing with specifically the nature of injuries that might arise from arboricultural work.

This should be implemented as soon as possible. As a medical professional with interest in the Arb industry a dedicated set of guidelines for first aid training and self help training are long overdue
