The Corrections Officers at the ACJ received no hazard pay raises. We’ve weathered over 113,000 hours of overtime since the pandemic started in March. We’ve been forced to work with less staff, inadequate PPE, and multiple forced unpaid quarantines. We’ve risked our health coming to work every day. Let’s tell Rich Fitzgerald and County Council it’s time to recognize our dedication with a hazard bonus.

Corrections officers step into a 100% diseased environment every day. They and their families are at risk 100% on a daily basis. The coronavirus has now put the corrections officers and their families at an immeasurable risk. If you don’t feel this is a vulnerable situation, spend a day in their shoes.

Relentless 16hr shifts. No time to recharge but the warden nor the county cares. The government recognized us why won’t the county. What r they doing with the millions$$ they received. ????

Its terrible to give the inmates all i pads or tablets as a Christmas gift, and jail employees are sent home without pay if they are through no fault of their s have been exposed to the covid virus. How are they suposed to feed their families and pay their bills ,when they are sent home for two weeks without pay.

I don’t understand how the county gets CARES grant and the officers and other staff see nothing but more and more MANDATED overtime during the holiday season. WAKE UP FITZGERALD!!! Hire more officers and pay your employees what they earned. Quit playing games with peoples livelihood.

As a retired Correctional Officer, knowing what these Officers are going through on a daily basis, it’s a shame that a petition had to be started, in order for them to try and get what they definitely deserve.

Some tow operators got hazard pay but I think it was only valid during the beginning of the pandemic as per the company they were working for. I hope everyone gets hazard pay no matter where they work.
