Care about people and their ability to stay in the houses that they have made into 'homes'. I would be ok if home values went below purchase price also and we paid still based on purchase price

Our monthly mortgage went up $600/mo based upon property taxes. This level of increase based upon tax appraisal vs. purchase price 1.5 years ago is not sustainable.

Basing property tax values on imputed values drawn from recent sales is a travesty and does not reflect the true value of a home for which the owner may have no immediate plans to sell.

Our home's appraised value has increased more than 57% since we purchased it 4 years ago. County has repaired none of our roads that sorely need it and services continue to increase in price with less benefits.

Taxes in San Marcos are ridiculously off the roof. Being a retired person on a fixed income and having my taxes increase tremendously is beyond reason. STOP increasing taxes on existing senior citizens homes!
