The increased value from those relocating to Hays County has not been reflected in our household income. We must pay taxes based on purchase price or be forced to move out which is not a reasonable solution.

It’s sad to see my home and land over valued as new neighbors from California over paid for their home causing my value to rise and 1/2 of my land is in flood way.

It is time to listen to residents of Hays County.
Many of us longterm residents. I have lived here since 1985. I am on fixed income. Tax on purchase price. Not all properties have sane value. Pass costs to developers and highend subdivisions. Let seniors and low income disabled citizens free from burden of new growth.

The "value" of a home is what is paid for it UNTIL it is sold. I should not be taxed out of my home.
