As a long time resident the loss of a grocery store has been a huge hardship.We need a a large full service grocery.

A destination grocery store, like Trader Joe’s, would be an excellent choice. Not only would it be amply supported by our residents on the island, but it will draw people to the island and its commerce from communities to the north and south. We constantly drive to the Trader Joe’s in the Hollywood district - because it choices we like at a reasonable price. I believe it or a similar store would be a fantastic fit for the island.

We miss having a small, good quality, healthy food grocer on the island. New Seasons on Interstate is too far. Target is limited and too big.

This must happen in order for our community to thrive--many here cannot make it to Freddy's and need a supplier that has more than just Target offers to fulfill grocery needs. (Though they are getting better and, full disclosure, I work there, so I know they are trying to see the demand is filled, especially certain departments.) But a real, dedicated grocer would be a welcome alternative.
