Final supporters
We, the undersigned residents of Hawthorne, request that the Hawthorne Chamber of Commerce reschedule it's 2018 Santa Parade to be held in the evening, immediately preceding the lighting of the tree. We request this for the following reasons
• Many local organizations put tremendous effort into their parade floats, they should be shared with as many residents as possible
. • The daytime parade competes with too many family activities and attendance has suffered in recent years.
• When the parade and tree lighting were held together, attendance for both events was larger and the community had more opportunity to participate.
We appreciate the Chamber bringing this beloved parade to our community year after year. Please make it possible for more residents to share it with you and each other. Please hold next year's parade in the evening. Thank you for your consideration.

We have lived here for over 10 years and had the chance of experiencing the lighting at night. The fire houses work so hard decorating and it was great to see the wonderful turnout. Night time is better.
Would make it more possible for business community to participate and would attract all people to one big event rather than two smaller ones. Just makes more sense. And we could still do hot chocolate and drinks and have vendors. So many small towns do this and it’s a much looked forward to night. It becomes tradition.
I think at night is even better for participants to have their floats ready. Usually, floats can't be finished the night before because the wind and rain. Having all day to prepare may bring more beautiful lighted floats.
i love the parade at night with all the lights with the kids firetrucks they used to have contest to the best looking company and ambulances. it is more festivity at night with the lights and gets you in the holiday mood.
Change it back to night!!! My oldest daughter had to miss it this year due to soccer and she was pretty bummed!! I say perfect time is Saturday night that way it doesn't interfere with people who work late on Fridays.
The tree lighting & parade was best at night it made it more festive. Saturday mornings are very busy!!
Bring back the night time parade and festivities. So much fun! A great community get together :)

I think parade starting at the library on thr first Saturday at dusk, 4:00, followed by the lighting at 6:00, then vendors spread along Warburton near Layfayette. Santa could still be at the library or move him to municipal building. Also, advertise vendor opportunities more.
