How sad that our school has gone from one of the best in the country to one in such dire distress. The children will suffer terribly if the 2District contract is dismantled.

Our students, our teachers and dedicated staff members are the heart of the community and deserve a school board that listens to and supports them. It has become glaringly obvious that the current school committee is struggling to do that. As a parent of a current Hawlemont student who loves going to school everyday, I join my voice with those on this petition to ask for the majority of the school committee to step down so that we are able to continue the 2 district agreement.

I want Hawlemont to remain a part of or join MTRSD, and support the resignation of the current Hawley and Charlemont school committee.

Nothing would improve the prospects and future of the Hawlemont school more than for Hussein Hamden and whoever suppports him were to resign and remove themselves from the school board as soon as possible. He undermines whatever institution he 's connected with.

The pupils at Hawlemont deserve the very best learning opportunities our towns can offer them and their teachers and staff deserve support and encouragement for their dedication and hard work. There is no need for taking unnecessary risks and adding to any current uncertainty regarding the school’s future. The 2D agreement offers a route to greater stability and continuity and is one worth saving.

am sorry it's become so fraught, but the school has exceptional programs and must get the best possible care.

All the members of the HSC have expressed their support for keeping Hawlemont open, but the school will not survive without new leadership on the HSC. Right now we are stuck--unable to move forward. If the current members of the HSC truly wish to keep Hawlemont open, they need to step aside and allow a new committee to take on the difficult task of preserving a vital community institution.

Hawlemont has been the heartbeat of our community and it’s closure would be devastating for the towns of Hawley and Charlemont.
