Clint Barton, the Avenging Archer, known as Hawkeye is a true Marvel Icon and a classic Avenger. Easily recognizable by his dominantly purple attire and weapon of choice, the bow and arrow. Further recognizable by his smart-mouthed, arrogant, yet lovable personality. A long time member of the once Mighty pre-disassembled Avengers, and voted 2nd greatest Avenger of ALL TIME in 2008 by CBR. Clint Barton is also a competent leader, with such teams as the Thunderbolts, West Coast Avengers, and New Avengers under his belt. One of the most staunch supporters of the Avengers' one-time anti-kill policy. However, currently he is hardly been recognizable as the Clint Barton many of us once knew and loved. He is forcedly written as a generic, angsty, gun-toting, ninja anti-hero known as Ronin, neglecting his superior archery skills except for in moments of extreme peril. The undersigned hereby agree that Hawkeye should return to his original, classic, iconic persona: Hawkeye the Archer. However, there is more to the persona than just a simple costume change and a different weapon of choice. It is a reparation of his base character traits that we ask for. Clint Barton must be the wise-cracking, scaoundrel of an Avenger as he used to be. He should also remember how firmly he stood as a supporter of the Avengers' no-kill policy. These can all be corrected by stricter editing on the part of Marvel's editors, and a little more respect for the character and continuity from certain writer(s).
