The Forest Service just confirmed that the new parking lots are officially going ahead. I am honestly stunned by this result and I owe all of this to each of you who spoke up for safer trail access. Keep an eye out for construction updates because this whole victory belongs …

The Hawes Trail Alliance is asking for your support on bringing much needed parking west of Usery Highway. Currently to park and ride the trail system off Usery Highway a trail user has very limited parking options, all of which poses a significant safety concern. HTA is proposing two new lots on the west side of Usery Highway that will provide over 300 parking spaces and trail users will no longer need to dangerously cross Usery Highway to access the trails. By signing you are helping to petition Tonto National Forest, Mesa Ranger District in letting them know the need for additional parking for the Hawes Trail System. Thank for your time and support in helping HTA make the Hawes Trail System a safer and more enjoyed trail system!

I take my kids to ride these trails! It would be amazing to have more parking to make sure I am not freaking out that the cars will hit them if we have to park far away and have to ride up near the road to the trail head

I’ve had a couple friends have the vehicles broken in too or ticketed for parking around hawes. There needs to be more safe parking especially with the growth of the trail system.

Most definitely needs more parking. It gets frustrating to drive all the way there just to find there's nowhere to park legally or safely is getting really irritating. Gas isn't cheap these days and I want to ride!!

The area has outgrown its humble beginnings and is now destination riding for not just the valley, but OOT visitors, too. Sheriff is trying to manage traffic and parking along Bush Hwy but there are not enough parking for all the recreational users, whether river, bikes or OHV

As a local Mesa resident, I’d LOVE to have a parking option which doesn’t require me and my family to cross the busy highway to access Hawes. The vehicles driving on that road often travel far too fast, frequently with boats or horses in tow, for it to be safe for pedestrians to be crossing regularly.

This is a critical addition to the Hawes trail system. We are currently apprehensive taking our youth team members here due to the crossing of a busy and possibly deadly road. This would make a huge difference for our youth and being able to take them to different trails and having an awesome experience at Hawes. Thanks!

I love riding the trails here and agree more formal parking is needed.
