The planning application at the north end of Station Road has officially been rejected. This outcome belongs entirely to you because I truly never imagined we could hold this ground against such pressure. Please stay alert to make sure the developers keep their word but for now please just celebrate …

East Northants is our home. We wish to ensure that as it changes to meet new challenges, those changes are in keeping with the area and meet the needs of those of us who live and work here. We are concerned that in recent years there has been much development without the new infrastructure and services to match. Roads often do not cope at peak times, there are areas without enough school places, public transport is usually inadequate, local emergency services are stretched and medical services are unable to offer prompt support to all. There is now yet another application to build on open land, this time at the north end of Station Road in Higham Ferrers. The pressure on our services and infrastructure will become intolerable if they are not improved before more housing is built. In particular, the additional traffic at the A6 / A45 junction at Chowns Mill will cause further delays and risk even more accidents. This will affect the residents of several local towns and villages on a daily basis. We call upon all parties involved in assessing and approving this application to stop, think and ensure that there is adequate infrastructure and service provision before further expansion is approved, and that any such expansion is designed to meet local need, not the demands of developers.  See our new web site at www.chownsmill.org.uk for lots more detail.  To see the planning application that has prompted this, please use the link on this page and type 11/00805/OUT into the relevant field.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many of you have put your name to this. If you have a moment today please send the link to a few neighbors so we can reach that next target together.

Enough is enough. The traffic at chowns mill is already a nightmare every single morning. How are we supposed to get to work on time if they keep adding houses without fixing the roads?

Schools are packed and doctors are impossible to see. Why are we building more houses when we dont even have space for the people already here? Stop putting developers profit over our actual lives.

Chowns mill is a death trap. Adding more cars to that roundabout is just asking for more accidents. Seriously need to rethink this.

Look after the residents first. We need services not just more expensive estates.

Lived here my whole life and watched it go downhill because of all this building. Roads werent made for this much traffic.
