Havenbrook dog park

Off Leash Dog Park at Havenbrook Park we reject! Thanks for making us aware.

Terrible idea. Against.

I do not want the off leash dog park.

Should Havenbrook Park be identified as an appropriate site for a dog park the City Staff should clearly detail in advance of a public meeting what additional services will be provided to ensure that there is no diminishment in the quality of a prized neighbourhood asset. Residents of Henry Park before attending a public meeting should be aware of of how City Staff plan on responding to additional need for garbage collection, parking enforcement and washroom facilities. A fully informed public makes for an efficient, effective and successful community public meeting. The dog park issue if properly presented should make the final decision reasonably acceptable to all parties.

Reject. I have a friend who lives in a closely-knit neighbourhood in Toronto such as ours and has a dog park close by. She says that the dog owners from the immediate area are respectful of the rules but not so much for the many who drive to the area and leave their dog’s mess and create parking havoc on nearby streets. They have had many issues with dog owners who describe their dogs as “frisky” or “energetic”, but are in fact aggressive and don’t interact well with other dogs. In HF we know each other’s dogs, but when non-residents come in, we don’t know their dog-owner habits. I am vehemently opposed to this proposal.

Opposed. Will bring many more dogs from surrounding areas, and this park is ideal for children, even has a kiddie area -- too much risk for problems.

I am very concerned about the parking and increased traffic issues as well as the cleanliness (ie. dog poop) that often becomes an issue for surrounding green space. Many dog owners also allow their dogs to go off leash before they even enter the park area - not all children or adults are comfortable with dogs and during the winter this area has a lot of people doing winter activities on the hill.

I am a dog owner who prefers the exercise from walking my dog as opposed to placing my dog in a pen with a lot of strange dogs. The location of the DOLA park will end up on a city website and attract a lot of people from outside our neighborhood, creating more parking and garbage problems. There are places such as the hydro fields that can be better accessed by the general public.

I too am against this proposal. Adding more traffic to an otherwise cluttered street (baseball, tennis, tobogganing) is not what we need. They will fill neighboring streets like mine, parking their cars where my kids and other kids play daily - yes they are outside playing during all seasons! We already have to deal with people speeding down our streets so adding more cars into our neighbourhood makes it more unsafe. Use the funds to improve parks for children (updated equipment like other areas have, splash pads) and make our community more appealing for families to live, not just come to let their dog run. Add speed bumps to reduce people clipping down streets where people walk, kids play or ride bikes.

I am also agaisnt this proposal. If there money to spend.. A . Fix the curbs that should have been done during all that construction on havenbrook B. Re - pave the roads on havenbrook the right way.. ( not have the road ) C.. re due the park from the 1900.. for the kids.. Any of these would make more sense

I support the proposal. There are a significant number of Henry Farm residents with dogs. An off-leash park would reduce the number who take their dogs into the schoolyard (against the bylaws).

Against the dog park. I have a dog that is always on a leash and want others to do the same. Too many scary incidents of aggressive dogs.

I Support an off-leash park

I am against this proposal. Although I am a dog owner, I think that the negative impact of a DOLA on Henry Farm residents would be too great.
