Middle school is a tough time as many of us know, and one subject that is very rarely communicated in the educational system at many schools is sexual orientation. Middle school is around the same time that gays, bisexuals and the like find who they are, and it is is often very difficult for them to accept that. It does not mend the situation with the fact that foolish students have false preconceptions about gays and bisexuals. Young LGBTs need to be reassured in their first years of finding themselves and others need to be educated about sexual orientation and how to positively treat a gay, bisexual, etc... This petition has been made in attempts to make such a thing possible, to raise awareness to schools that sexual orientation is not something that should be shrugged off.
