We have had two vehicles stolen from our driveway in the last couple of months. One was in the middle of the day when we were home. These thieves feel emboldened because they know APD is exhausted and lethargic about the issue. I don't feel that APD takes the issue seriously even if you call (like we did) to say you are following your own stolen vehicle up Zuni. Bate cars YES! Lock these stupid people up, get them sober, get them a job, crack there head... whatever it takes.

Aren't you politicians listening? How many time do you have to be told, or is it just about you? As long as you keep your jobs you could care less -- I am right ain't I

My wife was robbed at gun point in this city. It pains me to know that the perpertrator was caught and released due to flaw in our judicial system. The individual put a gun to my 50 year old wife. As we proceed through the process it is us, the victims, that must put our emotions aside and choose our words carefully so that we do not provide the perpetrator another loop hole. Where is the judgement for our justice system. Additionally, we are contantly being told that our jails are over populated, yet our city spends millions on bike paths and the unwanted ART on central. These projects lack judgement. These projects will simply add crooks another avenue by which to conduct their criminal behavior. And justice for all is not how business is being conducted in Albuquerque.. Additionally our educational system is flawed with the belief that everyone will go to college. Reality sets in bitterly when some students realize that they are not cut out for college. Many trade skills programs have been removed from our schools. The results are clear.

We need tougher punishments for repeat offenders too. That, in addition to tougher laws on auto theft.

I had the same car stolen twice and broken into several times. My solution? I moved from Albuquerque.
