Harsher Punishments and More Investigations for Auto Theft in Albuquerque, NM
Albuquerque residents have seen a huge increase in auto theft in 2016, and have seen little being done to remedy this problem. We need harsher penalties for thieves and more thorough investigations into the 25-30 car per day auto theft cases. Hardworking Albuquerque residents are fed up!
Please sign this petition to show our elected officials how severe the problem has become.

Albuquerque officials are ignoring the 30 cars being stolen every single day while we wait for justice. We need to hit this 1,000 mark immediately to force the city council to stop hiding from their own failure. Get this into the hands of everyone you know right now so we can finally demand action.

One hundred of us have finally said enough is enough regarding these constant car thefts. Our elected officials are choosing to ignore the wreckage of our streets while criminals walk free. Keep the pressure on them until they realize we are not going away quietly.

The bureaucrats in City Hall are ignoring the 25 to 30 cars stolen every single day while our neighbors lose their livelihoods. We are about to hit 100 signers but we need to create a surge that they cannot possibly ignore. Get this link in front of everyone you know right now.

They took my 07 ford f250 with around 4000 dollars in tools in the truck as an electrician I'm worthless without my tools. We need stiffer punishment for these crimes. People pay the 100 bond and they're back out stealing vehicles again. This has to stop.
If New Mexico is to have any hope of growing economically, we have to get our rampant crime under control. Why would companies and people want to locate to a state that's #1 in the nation in auto theft, not to mention our abysmal record on violent crime and other property crimes?
Albuquerque stolen vehicle watch, a group on Facebook, got my stolen truck back. Got my life back. The community helped me, not the judges or police. Police just told me it was probably in Mexico. We need stricter judges. These theifs are not afraid of getting punished.
I have had two motorcycles stolen in the past two years; my Honda CBR1000RR was literally stolen the same night that it was purchased. Please strengthen and enforce auto theft legislation to help remove this horrible blight from our city. Thank for starting this petition!
I am one of many who has had their vehicle stolen not once but twice in two years. There must be tougher penalties for these repetitive criminals who have no respect for other people's property. Please, we desperately Need tougher laws for auto theft.
Ive had my car stolen luckily we got it back but it was a real hardship on us while it was gone we had just bought like a month before found out it was a 12.year old kid getting into a gang initiation reallysad espespecially when we have proof and the law doesnt protect the honest citizens that work hard to get the things we need
On May 18, 2017 Our vehicle was stolen from a hotel in Albuquerque off of Gibson. We found it 3 days later with many damages in the interior and exterior. We are a family that works very hard to pay our bills, food, medical care, vehicle, etc...it is just not fair that an individual steel from you and destroy your property the propery your having a hard time paying and is not only that...the individual who stole our vehicle has our personal information including physical address and phone numbers and apparently he has a criminal record...it is sooo scary we cannot even sleep since that incident.

Too many law abiding citizens being penalized by the criminals. Why should we be the one's to pay? If we kept them in jail the police would have less work and maybe our insurance would go down. New Mexico has some of the highest insurance rates due to high auto theft.
