Dear Harry Potter fans,

As a massive fan of the Harry Potter franchise (both books and films), I think that I speak for all of us when I say that it's been a long haul, but it's been absolutely, unquestionably worth it.

As I'm sure many of you are aware, everything doesn't make it into the films. Due to time contraints, the films can't have every single scene that we would like. On the special features of the Harry Potter DVDs and Blu-Rays, you will often find Deleted Scenes that were cut because they were either unfinished, or they made the film too long.

Now that the final film of the Harry Potter saga has been released to the cinema (to critical acclaim and box office success, I might add), I thought this would be an appropriate time to make this petition, as a huge amount of Harry Potter fans are online to voice their opinion on the final film and are gearing themselves up for Pottermore.

The point of this petition is to persuade Warner Bros. to produce Extended Versions of the Harry Potter films for a DVD/Blu-Ray release.
From various photographs, set reports and interviews, there is actually a huge amount of content that has been filmed that we have not seen.

Did you know that Order Of The Phoenix had a whopping 45-minutes of content cut from the film? (http://m.leakynews.com/2006/10/27/ootp-director-david-yates-i-ve-shot-a-movie-that-s-probably-over-three-hours)
The majority of that cut footage has not been released to the general public, including such scenes as:

-The brain room in the Department Of Mysteries.
-The full battle at the Ministry.
-The full "Snape's Worst Memory" flashback.
-Umbridge and Ministry employees trying to remove Hagrid from the school and Professor McGonagall attempting to protect him.
-A later scene of McGonagall recovering from the attack in a wheelchair.

And this is just from one film. Imagine the plethora of footage from all eight films that Warner Bros. has hidden away!
Here are several videos which contain images and footage of scenes that we have not seen in the completed films which could be consider for Extended Versions:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RO2tKOakVqo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4IyEw1LWoo

If I have not persuaded you yet, then I will point you towards the Extended Editions of the Lord Of The Rings films, which were absolutely transformed with extra footage and became far more faithful to the novels.

I beg you Harry Potter fans, if we all pull together and sign this petition, then we can persuade Warner Bros. to produce Extended Versions of these films that have enchanted us for 10 years.

Reaching five thousand signatures has been a long road and my eyes are tired from staring at this screen. It is exhausting to keep pushing when the studio stays silent but seeing this many people hold onto the same hope keeps me moving forward.

Reaching our first hundred signatures is harder than I thought it would be. If you have a moment today please get this in front of anyone else who feels like these films left too much on the cutting room floor.

Also, want more. They missed too much that would have added to the plots. Some things were changed, for no good reason. One house elf that should have been in the films, was Mr. Crouch' elf. Also, how Kreacher changed after Harry began to treat him as a friend.

Harry Potter means the world to me. To see extended versions with never before seen footage would make me so happy. It would be like getting to discover the world and the magic all over again, and we would get to spend more time with characters we’ve grown to love over the years.

ALL Harry Potter movies needs to get it's own "special extended edition" like LotR with as many additional scenes added, as possible. And they should be available all at once in one special extended edition collectors box-set (sooner or later). Please, that's what fans are waiting for, and Warner Bros. would probably make tons of money with it. ;)

I would like to see a bot set with extended versions of all movies. If you recreated the books in film, that would be even better. We don't need Hollywoods twist on an amazing story. It comes to life on its own. If you are going to steal a book to put it on the silver screen, put the whole book on the screen, do not change or omit anything.

I would so buy this warner bros just finish the scene that have the blue screen and such. If George Lucas can do it when he actually added his deleted material for the prequels, and made it look nice with added effects, Im sure you can to.

As a Harry Potter fan, I support the reboot series — but why isn’t there a demand or any discussion about bringing back the original cast for The Cursed Child or a new story like The Lost Years set after The Deathly Hallows: Part 2?
