Common Core is educationally and morally unsound. It has NO business being adopted by a Catholic Church or any Christian church. My extreme displeasure with be noted in our church envelope.

The only true way for our voices to be heard is through the wallet. Any piece of literature or phone calls we get asking for donations to the schools will be responded with "not a dime until Common Core is out of our Catholic schools". Same goes for the Lenten Appeal. Money talks.

Why would the Catholic Church ever in collude with Bill Gates? Given he and his wife's role as benefactors to sterilization and birth control programs world-wide it is shocking and disappointing that they would simply look the other way for the right amount of money.

Why would I spend god money on an sub standard teaching material. It distorts the Church’s teachings and tries to enforce unelected officals view of what education should be...

There are many reasons to insist that the Hbg Dioceses stop Common Core implementation immediately. One of them is simple financial reasons for the parents. Why pay thousands of dollars for two children to be taught to the Common Core curriculum when I can send them to public school, which is already paid for by our tax dollars, and them learn the same Common Core curriculum. But primarily, once the government controlled, or at least influenced, curriculum is instituted we have lost all control and our children will be taught the politically correct nonsense currently taught in public schools, or even worse!

Never thought the Catholic Church would bend to the will of the state for money. The more I read about and learn what common core is its a true disaster in education.

As co-chair of the 9-12 education committee fighting against the implementation of Common Core within our state, I am puzzled as to why the Diocese feels the need to implement CCSS in our Catholic schools when traditionally Catholic schools have higher standards of excellence for education than public schools.

Catholic schools have been preparing college ready children since the first catholic school was opened, we do not need Common Core to achieve college readiness. On top of that, we should not be using public school texts and information while educating our children.

With two of my four children still in Catholic schools, I encourage you to repeal Common Core in full.

As the mothe of four daughters who all had the privilege of a Catholic School education, and now the grandmother of 12, I urge you to stick to "Catholic Core" and stamp out "common"

The diocese will collect their 30 pieces of silver for participating. Literally, they recieve federal money for implementing this program. All at the sacrifice of our children.
