There are so many young residents in our area that have to find a way to travel to other destinations to be able to skate. I believe that we have overlooked this opportunity too many times in the past. Our park is slowly dying. The attendance is declining in an alarming rate. I strongly recommend reaching out to the public in new formats and designs to try to entice a populous to enjoy what we already have to offer, as well as, new and exciting experiences. Thank you, and God Bless!!

Harrisburg needs better activities for kids to do! Maybe with more things to keep.them off the street less drug habits and crime!

I know there will be injuries and complaints about the safety aspect of such a park but leaving our youth with hrs of free time and nothing to fill it could prove to be more dangerous so here's hoping for the lesser of the 2 evils

Great idea. Gives them somewhere to skate and possibly keep skaters off the parking lots.

I think their needs to be a skatepark around here because there isn't one really close by and they won't have to get yelled at by other people that says "get off my property" as such.

I'm 100% for a skate park. I have actually been working on a plan for possible funding ideas. However the city would have to provide a location excessible and convenient to children. Please keep in mind that the Harrisburg park is a Township park and is not governed by the city. It is its own taxing body and is governed by a elected park board. I would be more than happy to discuss and be involved in planning.

Healthy recreational activities are imperative to adolescent socioemotional growth. Keep this movement going! I drive by the boys' house everyday to and from work. It always makes me smile seeing them together - enjoying what they love.

Every city should provide an adaquete facility for their local community to engage in activities such as skateboarding that are as globally accepted, respected, and constructive to the youth as skateboarding has been proven to be.

Skateboarding is growing in small towns everywhere. It is only fair to accommodate for skateboarders, BMX riders, and inline skaters a designated public area to ride, as I am sure you don't want them on the streets or private property.
