Today when picking up my kids there were a vast majority of kids crying because their principal was leaving .... he knows his children by name ... he I teracts with them the kids love him ....did you not think the effect this will have on the children

CCSD—Please engage with the Harris community in good faith. Harris already has incredible leadership. We welcome the additional resources you say will come with the Turnaround program. But tearing this community apart by removing this champion of all kids—of all abilities and from all backgrounds—is so counter productive and so demoralizing. Do whatever else you need to do. But don’t make a scapegoat of this amazing person. Keep Mr Nielsen at Harris.

Mr. Nielsen was an exemplary principal when my son attended George E. Harris. He was involved in all areas of the school, overseeing parents concerns, students well-being, and the best interests of the school. If this is just a routine change it is the wrong decision to make. He made a positive difference for the staff, the students, parents and the community. If he wishes to stay at George E. Harris he should NOT be removed.
