After announcing that the government has decided that seniors will work 2 years more until they can retire and to make cuts to needed social programs and pensions, the federal government says it has approved plans to build a magnificent $42-million glass dome on Parliament Hill as a new home for the House of Commons — a temporary one. Experts involved with this project think the costs could cost taxpayers well over $100 million. This is not a needed patch job. It is purely cosmetic. At a time when many Canadians are struggling,(yet being asked to give more), this expenditure is grossly disgusting. Let the government know that as a taxpayer who will be paying for this project, that you do not approve of this expenditure! Tell Harper not to fix the roof when it is pouring rain! I honestly never thought this would gain this much steam but here we are and people are actually furious about this ridiculous glass house project. It is wild to see everyone coming together because honestly who thinks building a fancy dome while people are struggling is a sane idea anyway.

100 million for a temporary roof?? Are they insane? This is the definition of wasting tax money while the rest of us actually struggle.

Ridiculous. My pension is barely covering my groceries and they want a fancy dome? Stay out of our pockets.
