Quite recently, and inexplicably, the Harold and Maude DVD was discontinued by the manufacturer. Having been rated #4 on Entertainment Weekly's Top 50 Cult Movies, #45 on AFI's 100 Funniest Movies of all Time, and selected for preservation in the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress, it was upsetting and puzzling for many as to why this beloved cult classic was taken off the market. With the film turning 40 next year, it is imperative not only for the DVD to be continued, but for an anniversary edition to be released.
If you'd like to see Harold and Maude once again printed on DVD, please sign the petition (your email address will NOT be displayed). Any little bit helps. With a plentiful amount of signatures, the petition may be sent to Paramount and/or Criterion.

im still in contact with people trying to figure out why this classic just vanished from shelves. its honestly wild how many of you have reached out with your own stories about why this movie means so much. im going to keep pushing on this because a film this important shouldnt be hidden away.

i cannot believe how fast this is moving. its pretty clear that im definitely not the only one who needs this movie back on shelves.

Harold and Maude is a masterpiece. my kids need to see this.
Need this for my collection. criterion edition would be perfect.
PLEASE re-release this. my old vhs is long gone and i need this on my shelf.
Seriously? One of the best films ever made and they stop making the dvd. get it together paramount.
Such a classic movie. ridiculous that you cant even buy a copy anymore.

This movie changed my life back in college. dont let it go out of print forever.
