I had the opportunity to sit with Harmon at a golf tourney and talk about my childhood love of baseball. He is a true legend and deserves this honor.

I remember going to Twins games as a kid. Harmon rarely let us down by knocking a homer over the fence. That was so exciting knowing the chances of him parking one was better than not! Put him on the stamp!!

I follpwed the Twins since I was a boy. One day I was at my grandparents home celebrating my birthday when they announced Happy Birthday to Harmon Killebrew. Big day in a small boys life to find out your birthday and a minnesota twin was on the same day.

Harmon Killebrew was a great ball player and an even greater man - . He was a kind and gentle soul who loved children and was committed to making the world a better place while he was here. He was my hero when I was growing up and, because of him, I learned to love the game, too. He was a humble and respected servant and deserves this honor more than anyone. I was lucky to have met him and even luckier to call him friend
