Dear Board Members,

We, the undersigned owners of Harborside Towers at Portsview at the Waterways, write this petition to formally request the postponement of the Voluntary Assessment for the Lobby remodel of our building. We believe it is essential to delay this assessment until all mandatory repairs requiring assessments have been completed and paid in full. It is our collective interest to ensure that no further required repairs necessitating assessments remain outstanding.

The purpose of this petition is to emphasize the importance of prioritizing and addressing structural repairs, which are necessary for the safety and integrity of our building. We firmly believe that completing these required repairs should be the primary focus, without any financial burden associated with the voluntary Lobby remodel detracting from this critical objective.

While we acknowledge the significance of enhancing the aesthetics and functionality of our building's lobby area, we firmly believe that addressing the mandatory structural repairs should take precedence to safeguard the safety and value of our property.

By signing this petition, we express our united support for postponing the Voluntary Assessment for the Lobby remodel until after all required repairs have been finalized and the corresponding assessments have been settled. This approach ensures that our financial resources are appropriately allocated and that any potential financial strain is minimized.

We kindly request your understanding and consideration of this petition. By postponing the Voluntary Assessment, we can collectively work towards maintaining the integrity and value of Harborside Towers at Portsview at the Waterways.

We urge you to take our concerns into account and communicate our request to the relevant authorities or decision-makers. We appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to a positive resolution that aligns with the best financial interests of all Owners.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Harborside at Portsview Owners

I honestly did not think this would gain this much steam but look at us now. It just feels like people are finally seeing what I saw when I started typing this in my kitchen at two in the morning (the lobby renovation is just not the priority right now, obviously). We are actually keeping the focus where it needs to be.

This petition makes all the sense in the world. I had for weeks recommended that the decoration project and corresponding assessment be postponed but never received any sensible reply from anybody in the board. The repair project HAS to be the priority. Redecorating is NOT. Harborside 1208

It is very important that this is delay is achieved so that priority assessments can be paid, especially since we are forced to pay simultaneously huge special assessments without the association asking for a loan to facilitate these payments and dilute them in a reasonable time. This threatens the financial health and the financial security of our community.

I believe that due to the current big assessments and the future expenses that these assessments will cost, additional to the fact that we have no reserves nor good credit as a building, she should act as this was our own home: you first do what is indispensable, and then do what is Desirable.Same as a Comunity, even more so, because in a community different family have different expenses and priorities. I believe she should postpone for at least a half year the remodeling project, that is something Desirable but definitely not a priority. I also hope this idea sinks into the board, since many owners think in the same way, but maybe just don’t express it.
