The dress code is out of hand, I don’t even go to the high school yet and I don’t agree.

A girl should be allowed to wear what she wants and what she feels comfortable in. Wearing a scrunchie or a shirt with no sleeves or jeans with a rip above the knee is not distracting. Guys see their siblings wear clothes like that outside of school and I bet it's not distracting to them is it? They see it every where they go and think nothing of it because thats what's normal. If thats not modest then what is? Do u want girls to go to school wearing snowpants and a winter coat?

This is so stupid. The dress code should be limited to a few things. She’s just a fricken psychopath that thinks we are 10 years old. And then calls us ugly for doing it. TEA

Dress code is extremely strict and i think it’s very degrading to these girls, and ruins their self confidence.

My upper thighs and my shoulders should not be viewed as a distraction to learning. Ripping me out of class to reprimand me over my choice of ripped jeans or sweatpants is a distraction to my education.

when you sexualize a 15 year old girls body - you are the problem, not her or her clothes.

As a girl of Hanover, who dresses in ripped jeans and a sweatshirt most of the time, being dress coded for my jeans being to “revealing” was a huge slap to me. That’s why i support this 100%. Watching girl after girl get dress coded for trying to dress comfortably was so sad to me. You know you messed up when the FOOTBALL TEAM is getting dress coded for their shorts. We need to do better at this.

The way the are handling this it’s just ridiculous especially handing out green T-shirts in the cafeteria and making People feel bad because you called them out in Front of everyone in the cafeteria in the morning that was just disrespectful .

I support this petition wholeheartedly. I understand dress code to a degree—if someone came into school shirtless or with no pants on, I’d understand if actions were taken as consequences. But it becomes an issue when a young teenage girl goes to school in a perfectly fine, and frankly cute, skirt or shorts or cold shoulder top and immediately gets sent home because it’s “inappropriate”. Not only is it downright filthy to be sexualizing young teenage girls like this, even under the excuse that it is for their “protection”, but it supports the notion of taking away a woman’s right to her own body. A woman has every right to her body and every decision about it, including her fashion choice. Do not put young girls accountable even in the hypothetical that teenage boys find it “distracting”. Teach teenage boys their wrongs, not girls.

The dress code violations being overly enforced are a thousand times more distracting than seeing a shoulder. I feel the over enforcement of these rules are more of a disruption than the people "breaking" them.

I support this petition 100% for so many reasons. Everyone’s education is important and this dress code seems like more of a priority to those enforcing them than our working environment is.

I don’t even go here anymore but even I can see how messed up the new dress code is.
