Majority of people are not in a religion that we have to cover 90% of our body. We completely understand the extreme short clothing or the extreme lowcut clothing. Although when you take the styles away from a student they feel hurt and as if what they like doesn't matter. Most people do wear jeans with holes in them and it doesn't mean it's inappropriate. If the clothing were to show private areas in view the student wouldn't be surprised if they got dress coded but when there is some holes throughout the front or low back part of the Jean where it is tasteful and not demeaning it shouldn't matter. The students opinions do matter and so do the employees of the school (adminstration and the rest). But when you start to take away small things you might as well slap your students across the face. Sure it may seem silly that you the principal goes by the handbook and gets severely criticized but you have to expect when you're a new principal you have to ease your way into things not come in as if it was a dictatorship. Respect your students and they will respect you.

As a former HC student I can say I am happy that dress code is being enforced however from the stories I’ve heard and from the students and teachers I’ve talked with this has gone way to far. I understood Mrs. Kepsire is new and what not but at the same time the school could have been more proactive at this. Rather send you home or make you dress different why not make the student do distance learning or even start Saturday School so atleast the student isn’t missing the lesson taught in the class. If this is about distractions then HC should enforce boys clothing. As well as teacher clothing. When I attended HC some teachers would break dress code and no one would say a thing. Changes are a good thing if implemented and enforced correctly.

I honestly don’t think this petition will work but it’s worth a shot. I personally have gotten sent home over things no one else noticed besides the administration and i find it highly annoying

Dress code shouldn’t be so strict, not that many people care as much as the administration thinks

I get that some things cross the line but the dress code like this one just in the statement is already outrageous and a lot of girls ruin it for others by crossing the line, they should be punished not the ones that don’t do anything I’ve never been dress coded or warned and I’m in 8th grade however I just don’t like getting in trouble but I would very much so like to wear shorts and even if I had the option to wear super short ones I wouldn’t, just relax a little bit or the guys should get a stricter dress code “it’s not fair”

I respect the dress code usually but some of the rules seem a little questionable. Like as a student athlete we like to wear nike tie headbands or even sweatpants or leggings and a hoodie. But we can’t since mike headbands and baggy pants are gang affiliated now
