In a country that encourages and exercises the freedom of speech, the freedom of expression, and the freedom to stand up for what you believe in, we feel strongly that some of these have been denied or taken from us in the past 24 hours. Our very own, Hannah Trueblood was denied the freedom of speech, opinion, expression, and so much more by the school not hearing her message. Which leads me to how OUR rights have been abused. Hannah felt attacked and oppressed and had to speak out. Now we stand wanting change to the idea that we can't, we don't want to feel oppressed or denied our opinions. We want to go to the student council leader or the school administration and be heard, not ignored. As students, and as seniors-who should take pride in their t-wolf family and should be role models to the younger ages-we will not have a happy senior year if it starts like this. The uproar in the auditorium shook more than the walls, it shook our hopes for a better year to come. The entire situation is loud and obnoxious-but that's what we want! And we can hmm get it now, we have some eyes turned to us, but can they SEE us yet? The STUDENT COUNCIL should be about the students and for the students. And if our voice was taken away, we have no hope for a brighter, better future for our 2015-2016 school year, or for any of the years to come. Our voice has been ripped away from us. Sorry we take extreme measures here, but we want to be heard! If we get enough signatures and the school does not start actually listening, we can hopefully make a change on a broader scale. Now I understand a school system runs a bit differently, but how do we hope that's gonna change if we don't step up!? We need to be louder to ensure the happiness of not just ourselves, but our younger siblings, our CHILDREN, if we can make a difference here, what else could blossom? We will be heard, we will be seen, we are the class of 2016. And we won't stand quietly in the shadows anymore.

I started this because I felt frustrated but I never imagined so many of you felt the same weight. Reading through your stories has been overwhelming in the best way possible. This momentum belongs entirely to the strength you show by simply refusing to be quiet.

I am honestly a bit overwhelmed by the momentum behind this because it was never about me. Seeing how many people feel the same way is a testament to how much this community cares about finding our voice again. This is entirely because of you.

Administration has no place in nitpicking student voices. Give LCHS the proper student leadership it deserves, not someone who slips into victory by a technicality.

American kids rejecting phony representation by petty tyrants, demanding the real thing. The future just got brighter.

Hannah deserves her vote and should not have them taken away for stating the truth!

The students have chosen their Vice President. They voted for Hannah. End of story. If she is still s part of the student body, she shouldn't be disqualified from her rightful position.

Fight for your voice! When the school system fails to be objective and shows favoritism of certain student that is DISCRIMINATION. Faculty that allow this to happen are over stepping and creating a hostile environment for all students. If a teacher writes a speech for one the student she obviously favors then she should be reprimanded and removed from being part of the student government process. Instead she is allowed to disqualify the one student who stood up to issue and other objectionable things that have been going on before, during and after the recent student election process.

As an exchange student, I'm shaking my head.
