To Whom it May Concern,
Please allow me to introduce myself. My
name is Rob Reed. I am a former player at PW under coach Hank DeMito from
1992-1996.
I am writing this to simply inform
you of some recent happenings with regards to the future landscape of PW
Baseball. If you have not already heard, construction for a new baseball
facility at PW is set to begin soon.
With that being said, and along with
myself, there are countless people who believe that the new baseball facility
should bear the name of a man who meant more to PW and its students, than just
being a coach and teacher. We all know what Hank DeMito meant, to not only every
player he had coached, but every student he had taught and every person he had
known throughout his life.
It only seems fitting that only months
after saying goodbye to Hank, we are able to collaborate our effort's in seeing
Hanks name so deservingly displayedon the new facility.
So if this idea is something you support,
please forward this email to anyone who you think would like to join the
cause. Maybe an old teammate?A neighbor? Friend? Or anyone who knew
Hank for that matter!! Please do this ASAP, as eventually I will have to
present this to the Colonial School Board. On that specific date (TBD), I
would be honored if you would attend andstand next to me as I describe to the
school board, why displaying Hank's name isn't something that "should" be
done.... IT'S SOMETHING THAT"HAS" TO BE DONE!!
I anticipate the school board
meeting sometime in the near future. As soon as I get a date, I will immediately
inform you all as to when and where. Remember, the more people present, the louder
our voice!!! If you are unable to attend and still feel like making
your voice heard, feel free to forward me a personal letter/email describing why
you think Hank's name should be displayed.
Thank you Tony Leodora for yourMarch 9tharticle in the Times Herald, as I'm sure your
public voice on the topic conveyed and magnified Hank's right to bear his
name.
Thanks for caring and don't forget
toput the word out!!!
Stay tuned...
Respectfuly Yours,
Rob Reed
