Please request for the WS/FCS Board of Education to gift Hanes-Lowrance school to the City of Winston-Salem to be repurposed as a Transformational and Transitional Community Center.

This center will seek to achieve three goals:

  • Provide accessible wrap around services
  • Economic development and empowerment programs
  • Address housing needs as well as provide assistance for the homeless

In 1963, Hanes-Lowrance was deeded to the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools by the city of Winston-Salem. After nearly 7 years of vacancy, a request has been made to the Board of Education asking that the Hanes-Lowrance School property be gifted to the City of Winston-Salem. Please support this request by signing this petition.
