Fr. Altman has been a tremendous help to my husband and myself as we seek the truth of our faith. Please let him remain as a “John the Baptist” in this mixed up world of ours. Our church need more “Fr. Altman’s”.

Dear Bishop Callahan,
While I am not a parishioner at St. James the Less, I am a parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus in Wausau, WI, making me a member of the La Crosse diocese. I also occasionally attend mass in La Crosse when my family is in town for any number of ballgames/tournaments. I want you to know that I completely support Father Altman, and I respectfully ask that you not to censure him in any way. He has been an amazing blessing to my family and me, despite the fact that we are not able to regularly attend his masses (in-person). In fact, Father Altman is a primary reason why my husband has started to respect and admire his Catholic faith and the Church again. Father Altman is why we are now regularly attending mass at our local parish. And while we are admittedly not your top “donors”, Father Altman is the primary reason why we have increased our tithing to the parish and diocese. I respectfully ask that you reward Father Altman for bringing us (and so many “sheep” like us) back to your flock...the Catholic Church needs to incentivize, NOT punish or censor, those priests who take their responsibilities as shepherd seriously and with courage.
Thank you for prayerfully considering my request, and may God bless you in your own leadership and shepherding role!
