I'm stating many more handicapped parking spaces are taking up most lots. With higher fees. I'm supportive of the need of many more handicapped spaces. But, the purpose of a 24 hour establishment is unneccessary. I assume that many aren't out shopping/eating after hours of 10pm, 11pm or midnite. If, We choose to go to the local supermarket or establishments that never close (Ex. Super K-mart, Denny's). Most times lots are empty and common parking is in the middle or back of lot. Many enjoy shopping/eating when times are less busy. The concern isn't goin into the business. But, more as we leave with shopping bags in our carts/hands. This is a fright of predators waiting for that moment. Sure, we're more aware of our surroundings since open view. But, I feel many more establishments may draw another clientele for the courtesy of convience just in parking. I've attempted to park closer when lot was completly empty and upon returning to my car. Ticket was issued. I understand officers doing their duty. But, with the economy already hurting and so many more problems are in other areas of each town. Learn to give us a break. We aren't doing any harm. If, anything we're helping those businesses continue with sales that many are starting to do online to avoid any problems that may arise. Just a simple thought. Not trying to change the world. Handicapped parking at any twenty-four hour establishment should be alot more accomadating. After the hours of 10pm.
