I believe that all sheltered animals have the right to adoption. If the city of Hamilton would look for a solution to this problem, I'm sure one could be found. Please look at all options before turning down any proposal to get as many animals as possible adopted.

very sad and disappointing HAS does and will not allow public adoptions yet they are fine with euthanizing these precious little souls. Absolutely disgusting and disappointing.

Living in Burlington a seeing the growing problem of un spayed/neutered cats having kittens under porches and in unlocked sheds, this is one step to help these animals. Step 2 is public awareness if this growing problem and how important it is to keep our cats indoors.

People are unaware when they drop surrendered cats or abandoned cats off at HAS that it's doors do not open for public adoption. With awareness and the truth many cats do not make it out. I myself volunteer with a rescue and know how hard all the rescues work to save as many as they can. Public adoptions would help save so many cats, and give some relief to the rescues who work so tirelessly with so little funding. A low cost, or free spay and neuter clinic would help control the population of Hamilton's street cats , which in turn would result in less cats taken to HAS, and innocent lives lost. As Gandhi once saidThe greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated. Let's take a step in the right direction.
