This whole county leadership getting pay raises thing is just outright ridiculous. I am not sure which planet those who voted for it live on but I just wanted to put out some facts: Their raises for one person equal to over two times the amount of national poverty threshold per person. Currently one individual is considered poor if they're making a bit less under 12 K. But, here we are five people getting almost 30 K annual raise.....
Folks like Escobar pride themselves in taking the credit for how County runs, but what folks like her forget is that it's the County employees who do the work in all reality, not her or any of the elected officials. I hope that people will read this and think of this one: I can guarantee you that among thousands of employees within the County offices, there are at least 200 upstanding employees who could have got 1% raise based on their performance and quite truthfully used that raise to live just a bit more comfortably. Current El Paso County median income is a smidge over 40K a year, but they still believe that making 60 K wasn't enough so hey, why not jack it up to 90K?
Such pay raise needs to be halted and put on the November ballot for constituents to vote for or against it. This is not okay at all and our County elected officials within the County of El Paso Commissioner's Court need to know this.

No pay raise should be allowed...the citizens of el paso should be getting those pay raises we are a poor city with head of the family working 2 jobs trying to feed and maintain a household...these people do not deserve a raise ...for what??? for doing nothing for el paso????they are an embarrasment to the city..unprofessional...they bicker and fight point fingers all on camera....it's disgusting to know these folks represent el paso....im disappointed and would like them fired and replaced by people who truly care for the city and its progress and for its citizens...not just about lining there own greedy pockets....thank you...

Do NOT PASS the budget with raise. Veto budget if raise not removed.
This raise is out of line for the job being done. Also, of course you vote a raise for yourself. If the average working man could, we would.

What a disgrace!
I'm fairly disappointed with our County Officials who have absolutely no regard for any form of democracy as reflected by this pay increased, where in a democracy should be put before the people.

When the County Commissioners move to approve that all the County employees get paid their fair wages just as other major cities.... then we the voters should vote to see if the commissioners and judge deserve to be given a raise
