Turf, really. Comon, what is this 2009? We now know the potential physical damage and environmental damage that comes with these synthetics.

Synthetic turf is also unacceptable for sports such as soccer (just ask members of the U.S. Women's National Team), because of the risk of injuries when sliding or falling on the artificial surface.

You can't even put tires in landfills they are so toxic, but dumping them on a playing field for children is ok. Ugh!

Children should be playing on organic grass, never on synthetic turf. This was a horrendous plan from the beginning and the mistake must be stopped before it is too late.

In addition to effecting health and water quality, synthetic turf is more dangerous to play on. This is a boondoggle, lets spend money where it is needed!!

If these fields are so toxic that the CDC is recommending "aggressive hand and body washing" and "no food" on them, are they really something we want for our kids? And this potential additional risk is in order to save a few dollars? I'm sorry, but not at the expense of my kids long-term health. This reminds of when NYC schools were trying to sell their roof-rights to phone companies to install cell towers. Additional revenue at the expense of exposing kids to radiation. Makes perfect sense.

I am totally against this. It makes no sense and I certainly don;t want my children playing on a synthetic surface that even has the possibility of being a carcinogen or toxic.

Please do not allow this to happen. Let's try put natural products for our children. We have polluted the environment too much as it is and made it less safe, l hope this does not get done.

Our children have had grass fields since the school was built, why fix something that works well.

Don't know why we need to have a meeting, the school should not proceed with this until we know whats up. Organic is always better.

Aesthetics aside, a compelling case has never been made for the synthetic turf. It will not solve long range problems.There is a considerable body of new scientific evidence that must be examined before going forward
