During these difficult time self care is just as essential as any other service. It’s not vein to want to look and feel good, it’s a must in these difficult times. With so many people feeling so many negative emotions right now, and for those suffering from mental health, the smallest thing like getting a hair cut can make the biggest difference in your mood. Taking care of ourselves in all ways is so important if we are going to get on the other side of this. My salon is amazing and follows all the protocols and limits the number of people in the salon at one time. It feels almost as if you have the whole place to yourself while you get pampered. What an amazing feeling. Please see these business as essential as they are: mental health is an essential concern and feeling good helps that

I had a haircut last week and felt extremely safe. Everything was constantly cleaned, masks were worn and customers distanced. It can be very safe.

I feel the government is not looking at the problem areas properly. Hair salons, spas, nail salons, etc. are not the problem!

In many ways hair Salons are an essential. Connection to people/ their public. Its great for the Mental Health. It gives the customers a self confidence lift. Seniors & other clients with disabilities need their favorite Hair Salon. They have trust in them. Everyone needs a great Hairdresser. I believe the Hair Salons were the safest place to be. They screen you before entering. Temperature, sanitizing, distancing & masks . The hairdresser disinfects after each customer. Sprays the chairs each time/ hand rests. All touchable areas around. Depending on size of Salon, there is only 3 hairdressers at a time. Their stations are well spaced. There are no walk ins. Appts only. The Hair Salons are the safest place to be. They keep up the cleanliness & disinfecting. All Protocols. Everything cleaned after each client. Definently masks & sanitizers for everyone.( not those flimsy/ fancy thin ones- the real macoys) Hair Salons are an essential. Its good for Mental Health. Open the Salons.

Shutting down hair salons is ridiculous, especially at this time of year.

This is insanity. Let people have their livelihoods! The government is now picking and choosing who's lives are worth trying to save from Mother Nature and whose will be destroyed by our own choices.

My hairstylist has perfect COVID-19 precautions. Hairstylists are essential services to preserve morale and mental health. After our first post-lockdown haircut, we all felt and looked so much better.

I have seen 150% compliance to all the health guidelines implemented by Peel Health at my hairdressers salon. They are shutting the wrong businesses and industries.

Hair stylists are an essential service. They help with our self being keeping us feeling worthy of ourself in these difficult time also they are our free therapist. We need them to keep us smiling and happy. Please reconsider your decision for the sanity and care of your people.

As a salon owner and stylist this is absolutely breaking my heart there are going to be so many businesses that cannot sustain another shut down like this. After being closed for three months I will assume that all hairstylists were really needing the income that December brings for them. Some people think we just do hair. People don’t even realize that we are heavily regulated and heavily trained in infectious disease disinfection to reduce the spread of any type of infectious disease. People seem surprised when we tell them we have to have a license to operate. If I could sign this petition 1000 times over I would because I understand what every single one of those hairstylists is going through. Being shut down for three months I experienced a catastrophic loss that I will never ever be able to recover from I’ve been playing catch-up ever since and it sucks. Ontario should reconsider a provincewide shut down for the mental health and the state of small businesses across the board not just hair salons. On salons opened back up in face to the cases were still going down there’s a lot to be said for that.
