Hi, my name is Nathan (Amanda) and my mother thinks that hair has a gender. At the moment, my hair reaches my lower neck, and that is as far as she would let me cut it. I am genderfluid, which she doesn't know, but will when I show her this petition. She said that if I cut my hair shorter I'd look like 'a boy'. I was wanting to get an undercut and shave off some of my head, but she said that once I am 18 and out of the house that I could do it. I'd really like this petition to show her that genders have no certain look. Another excuse she used is that I would be picked on more than I already am. What she doesn't understand is that I want to be unique. I know that this is just something that could help me, but I really hope that you can change her views on things. Thank you.

I get how that feels. My mom and my uncles always 'tease' me for doing stuff "like a girl". I hope you reach your goal, you wonderful human being.
Hair has no gender. You should be able to cut and style your hair however you want, as it is a form of self-expression. Forcing you to not express yourself will stifle you and ultimately affect you in the long run.
you go! i have both sides and the back of my hair shaved so that just the top is their and im always dyeing it odd colors i hope your mom changes her mind it doesnt matter if you have short hair or long hair i know a few guys with really long hair.

It doesn't matter how you look, all that matters is you personality. In my opinion, I have boy short hair and it doesn't effect how my personality is.
