The administration actually agreed to overhaul the entire disciplinary handbook and finally stop relying on hearsay for punishments because they know we are watching now. I am honestly still in shock that this worked but I am so incredibly relieved for every single kid who does not have to deal …
Throughout the entire school year there has been multiple incidents where students have been given unfair punishments. The way that behavioral issues are handled are not fair. Hahira Middle does not use “Innocent Until Proven Guilty”. Punishments are not by the handbook, but by what administrator deals with it. Punishments also are based on a hear/say basis. Proof is never provided that the incident actually occurred. This petition is being made for behavioral justice in the middle school. Please sign and send the link to someone else!
I have been hearing so many stories from parents lately that it is starting to feel like the handbook is just a suggestion rather than a rulebook. It is honestly exhausting trying to track all these different versions of how the administration handles things because the inconsistency is just wild.

I already made it through hahira but I like this and strongly agree with this petition. I had to many friends get into trouble and blamed for incidents that they were never involved in. I’d also like if the schools camras actually worked and proved to the students that they work instead of saying they work because every student knows they don’t work.

Another example today of several students being questioned, lectured and their phones confiscated so they could not contact their parents for over 3 hours. Students missed their lunch and entire block of class. This was all due to a perceived argument reported by another student. The part that is upsetting is that the parents were not notified of this action.

I’ve experienced racial slurs countless times. Basically numb to everything at this point. Can’t remember how many times I was wrongfully accused of something of which my peers denied I had anything to do with.

Kids should be punished by what the handbook states or the handbook needs to be updated if you feel the punishment is not correct. Something needs to be corrected and the rules enforced.

I agree with this. The administration is very biased against students whether they’re popular, their race, etc. it’s ridiculous.

I know this to be a fact! My child has been called into the office and spoken with by principals based on other students saying things that either happened off campus or by simple hearsay from a student and not and administrator or teacher hearing it.

Honestly, if I had never seen these things with my own eyes or heard these things with my own ears, I would NEVER believe them. But I have been there and watched my friends been bullied with a teacher standing right next to them, acting like they didn’t see a thing. I have been bullied before but the teachers standing right there witnessing it couldn’t believe their sweet little angels would ever do something like that. I have seen teachers being unfair to people of certain races. Some of the people on here who have commented about everything saying how unfair it has been have bullied me but then their friends get in trouble and all the sudden it’s so wrong? In my opinion, it’s not only the teachers and the school that need improvement, it’s the students too. That’s why I signed this petition. Hopefully the people who deserve a proper punishment will get one and the people who didn’t do anything wrong won’t get any punishment.
