We do not need another power plante in Burriville! One per town is more than enough! From what I have read,this operation will preduce toxic chemicals into the air! Seriously !!Whats wrong with our Governor???

It is so sad to see this happening to our beautiful town. Money and greed are the root to this power plant. Take that out of the equation and we are left with killing something that is irreplaceable. And for what? Even if our town or the state benefits in the smallest amount is it worth what we are losing? Absolutely not. My grandfather, former member of the town council would be ashamed this is even a thought.

I think that they are pushing for natural gas (which is bad enough), but I think that they are looking down the road when fracking will be stopped and the natural gas will stop.... they have in their application 2 1-million gallon tanks of "low sulfur" diesel fuel on site.... to be used "if necessary".... Diesel fuel?????? Once the plant is built and operational, there will be nothing that the town or anyone else can do..... the natural gas will stop and we will have a diesel fired power plant in Burrillville, spewing out thousands of tons of carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, and other toxins in the air. The Burrillville WWTF will not be able to handle the increase in water to their plant. NPDES permit is for 1.2 million gallons per day. Now it is at an average of 0.7 million gallons per day... Add another 300,000 - 900,000 gallons to that, and the WWTF will be over capacity.... not only that they will not be able to treat many of the toxins that will end up there.... So.... their effluent will be "contaminated" as its discharge will go into the Clear River..... Unbelievable!

They say that they are going to clean up that MTBE contaminated well and it will take 20 years... THEY are going to use that water... it will not help US.

This proposal does nothing good for the Town or the people that live in it. The bit about cleaning the toxic well is just a throw in to make them appear to be helping our community. Our property values will plummet. It's not going to lower anyone's energy costs. Who knows what kind of additional harm the proposed plant will do to the environment, particularly our water supply.
