As someone who has been exercising for over 30 years, I believe my opinion matters on this subject. Physical training is a mental release as well as a physical therapy. I train with weights because of the mental relaxation, the physical side is an added benefit. Take precautions yes, but reopen the health clubs. Life has to continue in some fashion to get us through this tough time.

Regular exercise is important because it is a crucial part of keeping our bodies healthy. Regular exercise decreases your risk for some of the most prevalent health issues. Those issues include diabetes, high blood pressure, and cardiovascular disease. It's also great for our mental health! This gym is always clean and is kept clean by all members. Our community needs fitness centers to remain open.

I am signing this petition because gyms are just as essential as grocery stores, laundry mats, and certainly liquor stores. At this time of uncertainty and fear, we as individuals need to stay healthy and grounded. For the majority of gym members, the use of one’s gym provides us with both mental and physical strength. The gym is our saving grace to the turmoil and stress of work, personal issues, and now, the state of our country. For me, the gym is my outlet, it is my daily prescription to remain both physically and mentally strong. Without the outlet of my gym, these past days have been waring on me. I find myself trying to be positive and upbeat with my family, with each day, I struggle a bit more. I understand grocery stores are beyond essential, but they remain open, with NO limit of individuals, that are occupying the space at one time. Yet, a small gym, The Dungeon, that puts the safety of their members FIRST, that follows the guidelines of 10 or less, wipes down the equipment before and after every use, provided members with disinfecting wipes, and deep cleans every night and morning, is not allowed to remain open. How is the beauty product shop in the city of St. Louis considered essential? For the gym members that make their personal health a priority for themselves and their family, a gym to workout, to be encouraged and motivated DAILY to be better than yesterday’s self IS essential. I hope that you take the opportunity to reconsider the decision that a small business gym, The Dungeon, is essential to ones well being. I can say this closure has been devastating to its members and certainly the owners. My fear is how the closure will impact this gym not just now, but in the future. Thank you for your time. I truly appreciate it and hope you will see for many of us, this gym and what it provides is not just a hobby, but a part of our life.

Jack and Ann have gone above and beyond to ensure a clean gym. Gym members are being conscientious with cleanliness by wiping off the equipment after each use. Everyone is limiting their workouts to accommodate the limit of 10 people in the gym at one time. Thank you for your consideration of allowing The Dungeon to remain open. I feel less exposure at this gym than at the grocery store, gas station or Walmart.

This order is really over stepping the rights on small business owners, and the residents that call this gym home. You have more than 10 people at gas stations and standing in line for food at the grocery stores and even the food pantry. Everyone close proximity vmany of those people need help to begin with so are they practicing good hygeine? Doubt it this is harmful to the gym it's livelihood, and patrons that use gyms to release stress and depression which kills 1000x more than a virus. Gyms are essential end of story.
