In principle we agree and understand the need for some restrictions to allow the free movement of emergency vehicles around the GUV. However we have the following suggestions to curb the impact of these proposed restrictions:

. Restricting the commercial vehicles from parking in GUV. Enforcing the much needed restrictions would have a beneficial impact on the situation for many residents who are struggling to find an adequate car parking space.

. To use part of the pavements (next to Caledonian Court) to allow for parking of vehicles on both sides on the Southern End of Taywood Road. This section is visible on page 2 and referred to as the 'lower window' on the plan.

. To enforce residents with allocated parking bays to use their bays in the undercroft car park. This will alleviate a number of spaces on the surface area across the GUV.

. Along Broadmead Road there is a need to widen a section, near the junction of Ruislip Road East, to address traffic and parking issues in the area. Ealing Council have undertaken such a policy in the recent past.

. Allocate the land which is currently under the control of Hillingdon Council, situated next to Waxlow Way, for a some residential parking. This would help ease the problem that is apparent in other areas of the GUV.

Residents feel that the above suggestions are necessary as issues with cars parked along Broadmead Road are a direct result of previous parking restrictions coming into force. Further restrictions would only push the problems across the surrounding area. These restrictions would have a significant impact on the day to day life style of the residents.

Currently residents are having to park a considerable distant from their homes and it is becoming more unsafe to walk back to their homes in the GUV, further restrictions would worsen this situation.

It is very important that there is proper consultation before imposing any new restrictions on residents as, at present, only a minority of the residents have a allocated car parking space. The majority of residents across the GUV without allocated bays are struggling with the current situation, which is unsustainable.
