We lived on Maxwell AFB for several years and are retired now but do notice that on both Bases the difference in the care of both locations but certainly do think Gunter is getting the real short end of the stick if they start removing the playgrounds for children.. that is the first sign of bad times or bad management .. but either way it can be avoided.. Agree this certainly should not happen.

Budgets cuts are an everyday thing now...but the children are our future! Society tells us to take them outside and let them enjoy the outside...taking away playgrounds limits us parents into doing that and will lead us to the big no-no professionals always talk about...t.v., video games, electronics. Keep the playgrounds open! Fix them!

We pay way too much money to live on base. We should at least have better playgrounds for our kids.

We love living on base, but Gunter definitely doesn't come close to having equal amenities as Maxwell, despite many of our service members working over at Maxwell. All housing events are held over at Maxwell, which can be a haul with kids in tow and traffic to deal with. Please support our military families and invest in Gunter.

With a baby on the way I was really looking forward to the family friendly environment that I thought Gunter had... This is really sad news.

Paying to live on base should ensure quality for our family. One of the reasons we chose base housing is based upon the amenities- one of which was a rumored a free standing splash pad for Gunter that we've yet to see construction on. My hope by signing this is that will make a difference.

Our families matter too. Gunter is a smaller base in relation to Maxwell, but it is treated as if it is the red headed step child of the Hunt housing management. Where is our money being spent? Is it lining the pockets of Hunt employees in terms of bonuses? This is unacceptable.

Gunter is the forgotten base in Montgomery and I wish it would get more attention.

The playgrounds need to be upgraded. If they were downsizing to make existing playgrounds better, OK. But this isn't the case. And we are losing the pool. The gym is seriously the worst! And we have no more library with storytime. Why would anyone want to live there? We decided to move because of it. :(

I have 2 children and its already bad enough that the pool will be closing over on Gunter soon enough. I believe that the parks should stay and be updated. My child cant even swing on the one close to us on Fisher. :(
